May is the month of Classical Performances at the Greek Theater of Syracuse. A visit to the Infiorata di Noto is also a must, a unique event that colors the splendid Baroque town of thousands of flowers thanks to the art of Noto’s flower masters. San Sebastiano martyr in Melilli from 4 to 11 May and the feast dedicated to the Three Saints Martyrs Alfio Filadelfo and Cirino, which takes place every year in Lentini from 9 to 12 May.

June, summer in hand!

For the Syracusans, this is the best month to go to the beach. Far from the confusion and the strong heat of July and August, the Arenella and Fontane Bianche beaches give their best in this month and the Mediterranean water is tinged with a blue worthy of the Caribbean. In this month, in fact, the small and suggestive seaside village of Marzamemi hosts the Blue Fish Festival and the Sicily Beer Fest, along with collateral musical and cultural events.

Even October is a mild month in Syracuse and the colors of autumn are once again tied to those of the sea, a visit to the Rossana Majorca Cycle Path will give you wonderful views and sounds. Do not miss the “roast chestnuts” to taste with an open heart and for nature lovers, the woods of the province of Canicattini Bagni and Palazzolo Acreide can offer you delicious mushrooms! Just in Palazzolo Acreide every year in October an event is organized dedicated to the products of the local gastronomy: from mushrooms to truffles, to honey, to meats, expertly prepared by restaurateurs and local producers, but also cheeses, zeppole and sausage.

November, crunchy emotions!

Although it may seem strange to you, we advise you to go and admire the sunset at the Island of Currents in Portopalo di Capopassero this month. In November the tides mixed with the colors of the winter sun can give you a unique emotion. In fact, in the southernmost tip of Europe, you can experience the magic of two seas that meet: the Ionian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Sit down and listen to the roaring sea: it will be a real magic!

December, when the magic is always there!

For all the Syracusans, December is the month dedicated to the Patron Saint of the city of Saint Lucia. On December 13, in fact, the patronal feast occurs and the whole city floods the streets of the city to honor it, the markets explode in the Borgata and in Ortigia, the grandmothers prepare the “cuccìa” the typical dessert of the party and the heart of each one it fills with pride and desire to celebrate and then continue to do so during the Christmas holidays.
