Vital, safe and gathering core for the LGBTQI+ community on a continuum between past and present.

The Palazzo de Gaetani, built in 1870 in Catania’s San Berillo area, was brought back to life through the Trame di Quartiere project in 2015 by current owner Giovanni de Gaetani.

The project renovated multiple areas of the building, creating an exhibition space, a conference room, restrooms and a cafeteria.

In addition, there are plans to open an Urban Ecomuseum within the San Berillo district.

From the beginning, the area has represented a vital, safe and gathering core for the LGBTQI+ community, and today one of the goals of the Trame di Quartiere Association is to give a new cultural impetus to the current context of the neighborhood, creating a ” bridge ” that connects the memory of the past with the present.
