From January 20th to July 7th, the Palazzo della Cultura in Catania hosts the Joan Mirò Exhibition
The Joan Mirò exhibition is an anthology celebrating the life and art of one of the leading surrealist artists of the 20th century, known for his significant contributions that shaped the course of art history alongside Picasso and Dalì.
Curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, the exhibition will be an exploratory journey into the creative world of Joan Mirò. A special section will be dedicated to his extraordinary collaboration with the magazine Derrière le Miroir, where he created his graphic masterpieces.
The Joan Mirò exhibition will showcase a wide selection of 80 works, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, books, and photographs, documenting the entire creative journey of the Catalan artist. Additionally, visual elements such as a photographic and video section will be included to narrate both the private and public life of this great master of European surrealism.
The primary objective of the project is to highlight Joan Miró as an artist who celebrated the joy of living through color, form, and the playful and joyful aspect of art.
Do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this extraordinary artistic exploration at the Palazzo della Cultura in Catania, from January 20th to July 7th, 2024.
