Arcigay Pegaso Catania

The history of the Italian Arcigay association is historically linked to Catania.

The origin of the social promotion association, born in Palermo in 1980, is child of the sentiment of intolerance derived from the murder of Giorgio Agatino Giammona and Antonio Galatola in Giarre.

Although born in Sicily, from the beginning Arcigay set itself the goal of protecting the rights of LGBTQIA+ people by building a network of quarters spread throughout the country.

Arcigay Pegaso Catania over the years has been a point of reference for the community in the area, despite the absence of a physical headquarters.

Today, the association is headquartered at 84/86 Via Verona, forming a new home in which to feel safe, study, socialize and participate in debates related to LGBTQIA+ issues.
