Siracusa tells and celebrates the deeds of its most illustrious genius, Archimede, in countless places.

It starts from the archaeological park, where the tomb of Archimedes dominates. Although it is not certain that the aretusian genius was buried here, it is an incontrovertible truth for locals! Going down the panoramic road you come across another symbolic place that gives light to the memory of the scientist’s exploits, the Archimede’s Technopark, here you will find many machines that were built in real size reproducing those invented by Archimedes himself.

Going down to Ortigia, just at its doors, between the two bridges, we find a large statue of Archimedes, strongly desired by the citizens and built in 2016, which represents the genius of Siracusa in the act of defending the city with the mirrors.

The route dedicated to him ends at the Montevergini gallery in via Santa Lucia alla Badia, near Piazza Duomo, where from this year a semi-permanent multimedia exhibition was inaugurated, which tells the wonderful exploits of this pride of Siracusa with the help of the latest technologies.
