Symbol of gathering for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Alessi staircase is located in the center of the city of Catania and connects Via Crociferi with Piazza Università, representing a strategic point to observe the heart of the city‘s Baroque art.
In fact, despite its medieval origins walking down the staircase it is possible to admire the Church of San Benedetto and the Palazzo Zappalà Tornabene.
In the early 2000s the staircase began to represent a meeting place and aggregation for the LGBTQIA+ community, where they can talk, spend their free time under the banner of sharing.
