Via Saverio Landolina - 96100 Siracusa

Palace Francica – Nava is an impressive fifteenth century building in Gothic- Catalan style, modified in ‘700 with baroque embellishments.

It belonged first to the powerful family Gravina – Cruyllas of Francofonte; then it was inhabited by other noble families of the city, until the 1693 earthquake damaged it irreparably, partially saving the original structure.
In the second half of the nineteenth century the family Francica – Nava bought the building, after it has been used by the Jesuit Friars.

Today the building Francica – Nava, after further restorations, has a Gothic (at the bottom) – Baroque (on the top) facade. The portal has an ogival cuspidal shape, a typical example of Gothic – Catalan style with Arab influence. Alongside there are rectangular windows and arched portals of the eighteenth-nineteenth century which are now used as private residences or shops.
