The cultural and social promotion association Gammazita was founded in 2013 around the Ursino Castle in Catania, transforming a part of the San Cristoforo district into a free space, committed to urban redevelopment and the promotion of processes of inclusion between different identities, including LGBTQI+.
The goal is to reappropriate urban spaces through direct actions to enhance the historic center, beautifying streets, squares and views with plants, urban gardens, artistic interventions, signature murals and furniture made from recycled materials.
To support its projects, the association puts at the service of the public an area where they can have a drink, socialize and at the same time, feel safe.
