Churches, Culture, Monuments
Via Logoteta, 29 - 96100 Siracusa

The Church dedicated to “San Francesco di Paola” it has been built in the eighteenth century at the behest of the Padri Minimi and the building was completed in 1735.

The baroque facade looks different from the other churches of the old town. Long and narrow is crossed by two large pillars with Corinthian capitals; the portal and the central window are respectively surmounted by two gables, the first triangular end “broken” surmounted by the shield with the Frati Minimi coat of arms; the second semicircular with internal pediment of triangular shape.

The inside of the church has a single nave decorated with elegant polychrome stucco of the eighteenth century where are located splendid baroque altars. At the end of the aisle there is the high altar in marble placed below a dome decorated with stucco-work.

Deconsecrated in the early years of the 900, recently the church has been restored and houses the International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences.
