Arte al Centro

Arte al centro is an artistic reality that is part of a chorus of voices all with a single desire: to make Catania better, more civilized, more healthy and livable and all this through Art, Beauty and Synergies. Get in the game, bet on Catania, on the Beauty, on different routes and different ways to express themselves all with the same goal: to put, literally, the “Art In The Middle”.

In the wake of the project Centro CONtemporaneo, born in October 2013 with the aim to reclaim urban spaces where cars, smog and valet parking abusive raged, it was born this new project in which the photographer Chiara Di Salvatore, together with Luciano Grasso (painter), Alfio Sorbello (painter), Cettina Tiralosi (digital painter), Antonino Triolo (sculptor) and Salvo Trombetta (painter), wants to bet on themselves to transform this area into a privileged place of exchange and meeting place for all those who love it and want to live in safety.

The art gallery is located in a historically area called “Chiano della Sigona” (today Piazza Manganelli), where lava Larmisi (4-5000 BC) resurfaces in several parts  incessantly reminding the predominant area of ​​which the urban foundations of Catania and of the fertility of Sicily are made of. It is ideally expressed in the abundance that feeds our daily life in body and soul.
