Aquarium

In the space in front of the Fonte Aretusa, in the heart of Ortigia, we find the Aquarium.

Particularly interesting are the pools designed in a way as to exactly reproduce the natural environments of origin of the fish there accommodated.

Among the sectors that characterize the Aquarium of considerable importance is that given to aquatic life in the Mediterranean.
In the tanks of this area we can observe the marine biotope typical of the coast of our province and some of the finest shells of the Mare Nostrum.

Below are the reproducing tanks: one with fishes and tropical plants of fresh water and another one with the most beautiful and delicate tropical marine fish and invertebrates that exist in nature.
