Exhibition of Salvatore Fratantonio at Palazzo dei Mercedari in Modica

The exhibition “Self-Portrait, The Meaning and Essence” by Salvatore Fratantonio will be inaugurated on May 15, 2024, in Modica, at Palazzo dei Mercedari. The event is organized by the Centro Studi “Feliciano Rossitto” and is sponsored by the Municipality of Modica. The curator of the exhibition is Elisabetta Rizza, and the project was realized thanks to the contribution of private supporters.

The exhibition includes approximately forty works, mostly new productions. One of the most significant subjects in Fratantonio’s poetry is the tree, which in his works takes on “increasingly abstract and less recognizable forms that, together with the use of light and darkness, responds to a narrative adhering to and reflecting his existential condition”.

The exhibition is divided into four major chapters, where complex combinations alternate. Additionally, it represents a true self-portrait that analyzes and conveys the meaning and essence of life.

The exhibition is free to enter and will be open until July 14, 2024, every day from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
