Pupi Theatre

The evening ends up at the Opera dei Pupi (Pupi Theatre), where the brilliant puppeteer represents the stories of Paladini and myths. “Pupi” are beautiful, almost as big as a child, with beautiful faces, chiseled armors, clothes and weapons that the puppeteer has personally manufactured.

They weigh from twenty-five to thirty-five Kg each, supported from above and beautifully moved, offer to visitors a pleasant feeling, inviting them to take a journey through time, to discover the epic of the paladins of France and many other characters that populate  the Opera dei Pupi’s stage.

In Syracuse, the family that for three generations preserves the tradition of the construction of the puppets and the setting up of the performances is the family Vaccaro – Mauceri.
