Palace Borgia del Casale

Palazzo Borgia del Casale is one of the most beautiful rococo buildings in Ortigia.

From the inscription on the arch of the hallway it is clear that the building was built in 1760 by Joseph Maria Borgia of the barons of Casale, whose family crest is present in the part above the hall.

The current architectural model, which comes from the restoration of a previous Aragonese building of the end of 1300, has elements of great value: the main entrance surmounted by an elegant curved shape tribune, the northern cantonal decorated with horizontal stripes, the railing of the corner balcony, the rococo decorations, the baroque courtyard and the staircase.

Inside, on the main floor, you can admire the recently restored frescoes and tempera of great historical and artistic value.
