Manganelli Palace

Manganelli Palace is one of the most fascinating historic buildings that can be found in the center of Catania. Built in the 16th century, it was for years the home of the noble Paternò family. Like many other buildings, it was damaged during the 1693 earthquake, but the perimeter walls remained standing.

The building shows itself in a late Baroque style, with a two-level hanging garden, connected by a staircase. Today you can visit it as a historic place but Palazzo Manganelli is also used as a hotel: you can therefore choose to stay there and feel like a true nobleman from times gone by!
