The Basilica of the Murgo is an eighteenth-century church, situated not far from the center of Agnone Bagni. The church was built by Federico II of Svevia but it was stopped in 1225, after the workers were moved to Syracuse to build the Castle of Maniace.

The church was never built and in 1707 was built a farmhouse with an adjacent church consecrated to the “Madonna”.

Today of the Basilica remain the walls of a Roman portal and some elements of the structure such as the columns that were supposed to support the ceiling of the nave.
