Vivian Maier photo exhibition
The exhibition of the famous American photographer Vivian Maier arrives in Catania.
The Fondazione Puglisi Cosentino of Catania, from October 27th to February the 18th 2018, will host “Vivian Maier – Una Fotografa Ritrovata” exhibition. Edited by Anne Morin with Alessandra Mauro, under the patronage of Comune di Catania and produced and organized by Gruppo Arthemisia, Contrasto and Di Chroma Photography.
Never exposed or published during the artist life, Maier owes her success to a posthumous finding. Most of her photos were bought and developed by John Maloof, a young film producer during an auction.
The exhibition is a travel in the works and the life of an artist that made mistery her charm, and collects more than 120 black and white photos taken between the fifties and the sixties, a selection of color images taken in the seventies and some movies in super 8.
The shots immortalise street scenes, portraits, architectures, self-portraits and anything else caught the photographer attention.
