“Gli Egizi e i doni del Nilo”: a journey through art, history and spirituality in Ragusa
Garofalo Palace / Corso Italia, 87 - 97100 - Ragusa
13 April - 26 October 2025

From 13 April to 26 October 2025, Ragusa hosts the prestigious exhibition “The Egyptians and the gifts of the Nile” at the Cathedral Museum ‑ Palazzo Garofalo.

The exhibition sees the participation of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, together with Sicilian museums such as the Papyrus Museum “Corrado Basile” of Syracuse, the Archaeological Museum “Antonio Salinas” of Palermo and the Iblean Archaeological Museum of Ragusa.

Through 24 selected exhibits, the exhibition itinerary leads the visitor in a tale that spans over three thousand years of history along the banks of the Nile: from the Predynastic Era (3900‑3300 BC) to the Greco‑Roman age (332‑395 AD). You can admire a model of a funerary vessel, vases, steles, amulets, papyrus and a cartoon funerary mask.

Not just objects: the route is enriched by multimedia rooms, scenographic and educational equipment that help you immerse yourself in the Nilotic civilization, its religion, its funerary practices, daily customs and art. An exhibition that combines scientific rigor, the charm of storytelling and the beauty of baroque spaces, offering a unique opportunity to get closer to one of the most fascinating civilizations in history.
