    Saint Chiara’s church and monastery are a very large complex that covers an entire block. Now the monastery is bases of municipal offices, it have its facade thanks to the creative design realized by Palazzotto in the second half of the eighteenth century.

    The church attached to, has a characteristic oval plan and a dome surrounded by a lodge, in the the entrance there is the golded wooden choir with Saint Chiara’s effigy. There are some fine and historical artworks to see inside: the five altars, two of which painted by Olivio Sozzi and the famous Paolo Vasta, and the reliquary on the altar of S.S. Crucified.

    The ceiling is painted with a large fresco created by the artist Olivio Sozzi, dating back to 1766, that represent the Poor Clares’ Triumph. One of the most valuable and characteristic elements of this church is definitely the multicolored marble floor.
