Occhio di Blu

Culture, Galleries and art sites

An erupting Etna, about 30 meters high, imposes itself on one of the most difficult neighborhoods in the city: Librino, a crossroads of crime and illegality. On a building in viale Moncada, Blu, also known as the “Italian Banksy”, created his murals of denunciation, hoping for an atrocious end and a luxuriant rebirth.

The ferocious and devastating nature of volcanic magma has a force capable of destroying everything and eliminating everything, including the mafia, drugs, weapons, evil, etc. The internationally renowned street artist hopes that the “magma stepmother” will turn into “mother mountain”, in a role game that allows a real rebirth for this neighborhood and for the city of Catania.
