Skiing on a volcano is already one of the most exciting adventures that you can do, but when the volcano is near the sea then the experience becomes unique.

Where there was, probably, a tongue of fire, today there is an expanse of snow which you can come down while looking at the Ionian Sea. For skiing in Catania (Italy) you can choose two slopes: North Linguaglossa (1800-2317 m) and South Nicolosi (1910-2700mt). In both areas you will find reception facilities and ski lifts. And above all a priceless view.

For Nordic skiing fans there are several natural routes indicated by the park institution in Piano Vetore (near Nicolosi), in Piano Provenzana and in the territory of Maletto. Do not forget also a walk on the edges of one of the four summit craters which can be reached either from South Etna and from North Etna.

Are you an experienced skier? Discover hidden corners skiing off-piste, or let you led on the north side with the snowcat, and then ski down the slope.

And for enjoying a winter walk along Etna paths, we suggest you to wear snowshoes. Accompanied by a guide, you could know and discover the fascinating “Muntagna” (as Catania people call it) and the beautiful itineraries of Etna Park.
