An art home immersed in one hectare of sculptural park
Founded in 2008 by the artist Elena La Verde, the La Verde La Malfa Foundation houses a collection of contemporary art, period clothing dating back to the 18th–19th centuries, ancient manuscripts from the second half of the 1500s, and much more.
The site includes the multi-storey villa and an outdoor garden: the “Art Park”, dotted with sculptures and installations created directly by Elena La Verde.
After the death of Elena La Verde in 2012, the presidency of the foundation passed to her son Alfredo La Malfa, who continued his mission. In 2013 the “Elena La Verde” exhibition hall was inaugurated, and in the following years two new thematic areas were opened to the public: the “Room of Memory” and the “Room of Peace”.
Today the Foundation continues to animate the area with exhibitions, concerts, cultural events, educational itineraries and workshops, as well as enhancing the local and national visual, literary and performative artistic heritage.
