Catania Airport is the largest airport in the South and the sixth in Italy as passenger traffic: in 2017 it exceeded 9 million transits. It currently covers 97 routes in Europe (in addition to two extra-European routes, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates with Dubai from the June 13th, 2018 e Marrakech from October 31th) and its connections with numerous hubs also allow access to the main intercontinental destinations. The airport was inaugurated as a military airport in 1924 and soon transformed into a civil airport.

In May 1947 I landed the first flight of the Italian International Air Lines (later Alitalia) that came from Turin. In the meantime the structure was enlarged and named after the meteorologist Catania Filippo Eredia, and within twenty years reached a large volume of traffic. Today it is an airport in continuous movement and change, thanks to the increasing number of passengers that populate it every day, choosing it as a starting point and favorite landing place in Sicily. Among the services that facilitate the transition to the airport we point out an efficient Parking Management System, which thanks to advanced software makes access to the parking areas convenient and secure.

The new Parking Management System provides for the issuance of a bar code ticket (there is no longer the token system) and the payment to the unified boxes, located inside and outside Terminal A (and no longer next to the car parks), both with cash and digital money: ATMs, credit cards and cards for subscribers. A high-tech, remote-controlled system equipped with a camera for direct assistance involving the short-term parking areas P1 (40 meters from the air terminal) and P2 (20 meters from the airport) and the long-distance parking P4 (200 meters from the ‘terminal).
