Etna 3000m Jeep Tour

A group tour to discover Etna at an altitude of 3000m on a journey to the base of the Crateri Sommitali to enjoy the wonderful views of the province of Catania and beyond.

Our jeep tours will give you a complete picture of its history, evolution and activity under the careful guidance of our experts, allowing you to arrive at an altitude of 3000m and appreciate a lunar landscape, characterised by a desert of lavas, lapilli and ash, often only a few hours old, with the majestic and active South-East Crater as a backdrop.

On board our 4×4 jeeps we will arrive at:

• the Rifugio Sapienza (Etna Sud, 2000m asl) and from here we will continue by cable car+Unimog (special 30-seater 4X4 vehicles) up to the highest accessible altitude about 2700m asl (if volcanic activity permits)

or at:

• Piano Provenzana (Etna Nord, 1800m asl) and with special 4×4 vehicles we will reach an altitude of 2850m asl.

In both cases you will always be accompanied by our guides and with the help of the mountain-volcanological guides we will visit the area at the base of the Crateri Sommitali and the Valle del Bove, with a walk around the 2001 and 2002 craters.

Back down in our 4×4 jeeps we will proceed in the direction of one of Etna’s most famous lava flow caves, which we will visit equipped with helmets and torches.
