Ortigia film Festival

Ortigia Film Festival is one of the most important event among Sicilian Festival since 2009. The eighth edition arrives in Siracusa presenting a rich and innovative programme, made of projection of movies of national and international scene.
A jury of directors, actors and experts of the sector will evaluate Italian movies, national and international short films; there will be also retrospectives, previews, tributes to great filmmakers, documentaries, latest film productions, emerging filmmakers, focus on emerging national film scenes, masterpieces of film, exhibitions, installations, masterclasses, conversations with filmmakers and other events.
The mission of the Ortigia Film Festival is to choose films of cultural importance, which would otherwise be marginalised due to the lack of commercial appeal.
The island of Ortigia will become a meeting place. In piazza Minerva and Largo Logoteta there will be two cinema arena e many other events in Punto G pub.
The isle of Ortygia is an ideal place to spend a week long holiday with a film festival as the attraction, participating in free festival events and enjoying a space where residents and tourists meet on common ground.
