Fermate d’arte: The Fontana Metro Station Transforms into a Temporary Museum Rich in History and Art

The new Fontana station of the Catania Metro hosts “Fermate d’arte”, an innovative project that transforms the transit area into a museum space.
A result of the collaboration between the Civic Museum of Castello Ursino of the Municipality of Catania and the Circumetnea Railway, “Fermate d’arte” offers travelers a unique cultural experience.

Historical Exhibitions

At the station, travelers can admire a selection of works from the Biscari Collection, including statues and mosaic fragments from the Catacombs of Domitilla. These precious artifacts tell the historical memory of Catania, the era of collecting, and the cultural eclecticism of our ancestors.
