Sciacca’s Carneval

An unparalleled celebration, animated by monumental papier-mâché floats, skilfully decorated in every detail. Each wagon tells a unique allegory, accompanied by masked groups that flaunt elaborate costumes and perform spectacular choreography. But what really makes the Carnival of Sciacca special are the satirical scripts interpreted with skill by local actors, adding a dose of humor and criticism. Do not miss the exhibition of the king of the Carnival of Sciacca: Peppe Nappa, the mask of the comedy of Sicilian art that opens the party with the delivery of the keys of the city and closes the show with the burning of his puppet.
