The former church and monastery of the Hermits of St. Augustine since 1933 hosts the Municipal Library St. Augustine. The structure of the church and the convent, built respectively in 1486 and in 1530 in late Sicilian Gothic style, presents a steeple that has the form of a small tower.

The Library has a collection of books of more than 22,000 volumes, with more than 2,000 volumes in the section reserved to books on Sicily.

The artistic and cultural heritage of the Library does not end, however, to books owned, some of which are published from 1600 to 1800. Of particular value are the altarpiece depicting the martyrdom of St. Sebastian and other paintings kept in the hall of the Old Fund.
