Via San Pietro, 22 - 96100 Siracusa

The Church is located in Via S. Pietro, after the square of Carmine, in Graziella district. Also known as “St. Peter’s inside the walls”, the church was built in 300 AD in Byzantine style and it is the most ancient church of Syracuse.

Altered many times because of the damage reported following the 1693 earthquake and the numerous bombings during the war, now, though deconsecrated, the church still has many architectural features of great value.

The pointed portal embedded within the façade is decorated with floral carvings and with a circular tile depicting a “Cross”.

Inside there are three aisles and many architectural elements of the time such as the arches, the transepts, the altars and the apses.
