From August 7 to November 30, Palazzo Ciampoli hosts the grand archaeological and multimedia exhibition “From Tauromenion to Tauromenium. Discovering the invisible city through history and archaeology”. This is a must-see event for history and culture enthusiasts, revealing the millennia-old past of Taormina through unique artifacts and cutting-edge technology.

A journey through archaeological artifacts and 3D reconstructions

The exhibition offers two fascinating paths: a material one, featuring archaeological artifacts such as capitals, inscriptions, and statues, and a virtual one, with animated reconstructions of the ancient buildings of Taormina. You can admire rare artifacts, stored for years in the warehouses of the Archaeological Park, and new finds never before exhibited.

A highlight of the exhibition is the return of the statue of the “Priestess of Isis”, discovered in 1867 and kept at the Salinas Museum in Palermo. Now, after more than 150 years, this extraordinary work of art is once again on display in Taormina.
