FROM THE ARTWORK TO THE BOOK, FROM THE BOOK TO THE ARTWORK

Palazzo Corvaja of Taormina houses the exhibition From the Artwork to the Book, from the Book to the Artwork. Ezio Gribaudo and the masters of the twentieth century. The exhibition is organised by Taobuk-Taormina International Book Festival and Artelibro Festival, with the support of the City of Taormina.

The exhibition displays artworks and books realized by the most famous artists of the twentieth century through the wide and varied collection started in the sixties by Ezio Gribaudo who was a friend, collaborator and publisher of personalities like Alberto Burri, Antoni Tàpies, Hans Hofmann, Hans Hartung, Joan Mirò, Henry Moore, Francis Bacon, Graham Sutherland, Renato Guttuso, Fernando Botero, Jean Dubuffet, Man Ray, Conrad Marca-Relli and more. An extraordinary collection of works, drawings, photographs, documents – gathered by Gribaudo during his life – will be on display, close to the books that he created, many of whose covers were conceived by the artists as original artworks.

The exhibition also includes the works and the artists’ books that Ezio Gribaudo realized as an artist and the books made by his daughter Paola Gribaudo, his first and closest collaborator.
