“Esegesi” exhibition’s Giovanni Iudice
15 July - 14 October 2018
Exhibition by Giovanni Iudice Fondazione Brodbeck
Giovanni Iudice is a Sicilian painter as evidenced by the tension expressed by a rough making, which for this project exhibits a large painting entitled Solaris3 and a series of polyptychs made with the preparatory works (drawings, photographs, proofs of color, notes). Each of these is associated with a further work carried out at a later stage, development of the experimented language.
A choice that indicates the need to reiterate the positions of his research compared to a painting that today seems increasingly poor in history, alluring to the illusory dimension of the media and in open contrast with his attitude attentive to the values of language.
The painting is an open space, a marina, where the bodies overflow, almost to indicate the discomfort of a saturated space. It presents a first floor characterized by different degrees of completeness. Some figures dominate the scene for their perfection and for the use of a color that makes them feel more than they look. Others, on the other hand, are variously painted, from the sketch to a partial finiteness, as if to create a range of flavors and intentions present, but not completely defined.
The exhibition, curated by Gianluca Collica, will be inaugurated Sunday, July 15, at 19:00, and will be available to October 14, 2018.
